Your brand files are impossible to find

It’s a mess.

Logo files are hard to find, your colours never look quite right, and people seem to be doing whatever they want with fonts.

Dave your designer has most of your files on his hard drive, your team have some files on theirs, and suppliers have random files they’ve received from you or created themselves.

There’s no one-place to find everything.

Any time you need a file from Dave, he emails it to you which soon gets lost in the inbox abyss.

Sometimes he shares files with you from his Google Drive, so you also have some files on there now, but he’s the one with access… colour values? Pantone colours? Almost impossible to find.

Dave did give you a gorgeous “brand guidelines” PDF, but it’s basically useless. You can’t get a logo out of a PDF, and last you saw it was up to version 11… no, 12…

There was that one time you moved all the logo files you had in your inbox, along with version 2 of the guidelines onto Dropbox, so at least you could find them, but it wasn’t long before that got out of hand… Everyone else with access to Dropbox kept moving things around, adding their own versions, and making a mess of your filing system.

Sometimes one of your suppliers needs a different version of your logo from you, like a version where it’s all black, or all white, or it needs to sit next to a sponsor logo… They have version 6 of the guidelines, and they need the logo on page 12, but no one can find it.

There are brand management tools that exist for $this-much per month, forever, but you really don’t fancy learning a whole new piece of software just to store these files… or having Dave charge you by the hour to learn that new tool, then charge you again to do all the work for you.

What if someone just did all of that for you

Imagine if all your logo files, as in, every version you’ll ever need, along with your fonts, colour palettes, special variations, other critical items, and usage guidelines, were on one centralised dashboard, easily shareable, where no one could mess with them.

Imagine you didn’t have to learn a single new piece of software, or even log in to anything new.

Imagine anytime something changed – like the tagline of your logo, or you added a new font, or changed a colour – you could just have all of your files updated by firing off a single email.

Imagine anytime a supplier needed a file from you, you could send them a link where they could help themselves to the exact version they needed, without you having to go on a search-and-rescue to find it, or wait for your designer to create it.

Imagine instead of paying every month just to store some files, you could pay one time for a centralised dashboard with everything on it, and it remained accessible online, forever.

Now imagine all of that happened in one day.

Done in a day

You can finally centralise all of your brand assets in just one day.

How it works in 3 steps

1

Pay one time

No ongoing fees

2

Send us your files

Whatever you have!

3

Dashboard built

It’s yours forever

While your brand is completely unique, the file formats it’s used in are very standard (jpg, png, etc).

And while the file formats themselves are standard, there’s a large and growing number of use cases such as in a video, printed on fabric, printed on the side of a plane, in a newspaper, on a website, or as a supporting partner alongside a sponsor’s logo on a banner.

Putting that all together requires a system.

Here’s how it works in detail:

  • Send us your files – ideally vectors, but if all you have are PDF guidelines, or just one logo file that’s not a vector, or a flyer, or your website – send it to us and we can work with it.
  • We’ll build every file, for every use-case, in every file format, colour, and layout variation for you from whatever you can provide us – and all following a clear file naming system for easy filing
  • If your creative team has already created every file you think you’ll ever need, we’ll simply centralise it on an online dashboard for you. If any additional files need to be created, we’ll take care of it
  • On your scheduled day, we’ll put them on a centralised dashboard for you to access easily, and share with your suppliers and media partners – don’t worry, there’s almost nothing to learn, and your files won’t be locked to us at all. You can leave at any time, and your files are yours to take with you
  • If anything changes – let’s say your colours change and all of your logos need to be updated, or you switch up the fonts you’re using, or you create a new variation of your logo – just shoot us an email and as long as it’s within your first 12 months, we’ll update everything, nothing extra to pay
  • Your dashboard will be fully accessible for users with disabilities, which puts you in roughly the top 3% of all online content
  • Plus it’s all hosted on ethically operated green hosting servers, so not only will your brand finally be organised, it’ll also align with your climate targets
  • Oh, and you also get a complimentary ourbrand.guide URL to give you some extra brand control (eg: Impact Labs Australia’s URL is ourbrand.guide/impactlabs).

Need more detail?

Below is the technical description of the files we will create and place on your dashboard (here’s an example dashboard).

Again, if all you have are PDF guidelines, or just one logo file that’s not a vector, send it across and we’ll turn it into all of this:

  • Vectors – high quality .AI and .EPS for every print, video, advertising or marketing requirement you’re ever likely to encounter
  • High resolution jpegs – .JPG for in-house printing or other in-house usage
  • Web-ready files – .SVG, .PNG, .JPG and .GIF for use on websites, social media, videos, and more
  • If more file types are ever invented (.AVIF and .HEIF are likely to be the next big ones) we’ll add them
  • Each of the above, in every colour variation you’ll ever need – full colour, all black, all white, and (if you need them) single colour, reversed full colour, pantone only – whatever you need.
  • Each of the above, in every layout variation you’ll ever need, eg: if you have a horizontal version of your logo, a stacked version, an icon version for social profiles, a favicon for your website – we’ll make them all, then make them available for you on your dashboard.

FAQ

We can work with just about any files you have available, but the more you can send to us the better.

Ideally, if you have a vector file of your logo or logos, and existing PDF brand guidelines, that’s perfect, as we can simply translate everything into a dashboard from there for you.

But if all you have are PDF guidelines, or just one logo file that’s not a vector, send it across and we’ll work with that.

Kinda but not exactly – if you have a guidelines PDF we’ll use it as the foundation for this for sure, and if your PDF has been working for you, then you don’t need a BrandPocket account.

However, what we find when designers provide a PDF with logo usage guidelines, font names, colour values etc, is that sure, it looks super slick, but when it comes to creating marketing or a website using those guidelines, they are very limited.

Your BrandPocket account will put files at the fingertips of your suppliers, and will always be the true version (no version control required) so you will likely have no need for your document any longer.

You can choose what comes after the slash in your complimentary “short” URL, but unfortunately at this time we’re not able to allow fully custom URLs. It’s a feature we understand could be super important to many brands.

At this stage, we offer a complimentary ourbrand.guide URL instead, which is a halfway solution:

  • If we only offered you a URL that looked like brandpocket.io/yourname, thats messy from your perspective (some alternatives to BrandPocket do this, and it’s not as neat as that);
  • A custom URL that you own is ideal, but we don’t offer these at this stage;
  • An unbranded ourbrand.guide/yourname is a halfway solution we hope still offers some level of brand control.

We intentionally chose wording for this URL to ensure it didn’t tie to any particular company name or trademark. This way, to your audience at least, it looks uniquely yours.

You can choose whatever you like for the yourname part.

Probably!

If you’d like us to take a look before you place an order, send your crappy file to us here and we’ll confirm that it’s a file we can work with.

However many are needed to ensure you have a comprehensive library, with every file you’ll ever need.

Did you know, one single logo version will have around 29 files associated with it?

So if you have a horizontal version and a stacked version, that’s 29 files each. An icon version adds another 29 files.

We build all of those files for you, which means you’ll have the right format for every purpose whether it’s print, video, socials, or something else.

This is what it looks like 👇

BrandPocket - 29 versions of a single logo

Yep!

Any files we create for you are yours to keep, even if you close your account.

Usually yes, sometimes no.

It depends on how your business is set up.

Only pay once if: You have one umbrella brand, with a number of sub-brands under it, and they all follow the same overall style (basically just lots of slightly different logos). Say you run a store with 10 departments, and each department uses the main logo with the department name underneath, it might make sense for the logos to live all together. You’d only pay for one dashboard in that case.

Otherwise: If your brands are all different, consider giving each it’s own account. Eg, you’re an agency with 10 different products and all are unique in look and feel, they’ll likely need separate accounts.

Ask us about bulk pricing for multiple brands here.

Yes – we’re working on a white label offering at the moment, please reach out here to discuss how this would work.

Absolutely – this is where BrandPocket really shines as a centralised, always up-to-date repository.

Lockups should not be recreated every time they’re needed, but it’s surprising how often this happens and results in typos, font mismatches, and a host of other tiny (ahem, huge) errors.

Lock it up and lock it in!

BrandPocket has been built with speed and accessibility in mind, and improvements will be ongoing.

As of right now, BrandPocket is fully WCAG compliant according to the accessibilitychecker.org (here’s our report), and we actively recruit testing groups to use BrandPocket and ensure it’s usable in real-world scenarios.

No, strictly speaking this is not a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.

BrandPocket is intended to protect the most critical components of your core brand, and ensure that only approved versions are available for use. So it’s more brand guidelines, less DAM.

We understand that some organisations use large photo libraries, and often have several advertising or marketing campaigns running at once. Those assets change often and are more transient than the core brand assets, which change far less frequently, if ever.

BrandPocket is for managing those un-changing parts of your brand, and ensuring there is one centralised source to find them.

For more transient assets like photos, videos, templates and so on, we highly recommend you work with your creative team and consider one of the alternative DAMs or cloud storage services, as it often requires hands-on input from the folks who work with them most regularly.

Centralising your assets can help keep things organised during your rebrand, so in some ways it’s easier if you start now especially if your rebrand is some time off.

If you rebrand within your first 24 months, we update everything for you at no extra charge, so starting now or waiting until after your rebrand makes no difference to the price.

That’s right – if you rebrand, you’ll pay a discounted price for a complete dashboard rebuild after 12 months.

Nope!

The price you pay is a one-off payment for a lifetime account.

Unless you ask us to close it, you’ll always have your BrandPocket account.

If you choose the payment plan option, the price is split over 12 months until the full amount is paid off, with no further ongoing costs.

That’s a whole other thing.

BrandPocket is for centralising an existing brand, and building out all the technical components to ensure it has a complete library of assets.

SwaS: The best of SaaS with the best of Service

We combine the power of simple software with the security of expert level service… it’s more like software with a service than software as a service.

Plenty of SaaS tools let you open a paid or even free account, but it’s often up to you to create all the “stuff” that goes into the account.

If you read reviews on G2, getapp.com or elsewhere about some of the leading brand management tools, as good as they are, and as good as the support teams are, they often come with a steep learning curve even for more tech-inclined folks.

On the other hand, even if your creative agency provides all the services you need, when they only provide you with a PDF Guidelines document and zip folder or a Dropbox of logo files with no system behind it, your brand is locked into a versioning & revision spiral rather than simply being accessible, shareable, centralised and, most importantly, always up-to-date.

We bring the two together. All the benefits of software without the learning curve, along with the service to get it done expertly, in record time, and without a thing more for you to think about.

And we do it all in a day.

Software plus service 👍

Being more service than software, our capacity is limited.

We do all of the heavy lifting, but will require a few things from you like your current PDF brand guidelines, or your logo files to get started.

You can upload them when you place your order, or at a later date if you need more time.

“In one day” means from the time you send these to us. If we have questions to clarify your needs, we’ll do that ahead of time.

Which version do I need?

Not sure which file to use for your project? The guide below should help.

Your printer, designer, developer, or marketing agency will know the versions that work best for their purpose, so just forward them these guidelines and they can select what they need.

Offset Printing or Professional Printing

EPS and AI (vectors) will be best for printing, and depending on the project you’ll either need the Pantone version or the CMYK version.

In-house printing
(on your home or office printer)

The CMYK version of the JPG will be the most versatile for in-house printing. If you need a transparent background, use the PNG version under RGB / HEX.

Digital, social media, or the web

Everything under RGB / HEX is perfect most digital work, including the web.
